Following two rounds of consultation undertaken between January – February 2018 and February – April 2019, AQUIND submitted its DCO application for AQUIND Interconnector to the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) on 14th November 2019. The application was subsequently accepted for examination by PINS on 12th December 2019.

All application documents included in the DCO application can be viewed and downloaded using the links below. The application includes an Application Guide and Application Document Tracker which can be used to assist you in navigating to the documents you wish to view. All documents can also be viewed on the PINS website at https://infrastructure.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/projects/south-east/aquind-interconnector/.

Category 1 – Application Forms, including Application Cover Letter, Application Guide, Application Form and Glossary.

Category 2All Plans, including Site Location Plan, Land Plans and Converter Station Parameter Plans.

Category 3Draft Development Consent Order (DCO) documents, including Draft DCO and Explanatory Memorandum.

Category 4 Compulsory Acquisition Information, including Statement of Reasons, Funding Statement and Book of Reference.

Category 5 – Reports, including Consultation Report (with appendices), Planning Statement, Design and Access Statement, and Needs and Benefits Report.

Category 6Environmental Reports, including Environmental Statement (with appendices), Non-Technical Summary of the Environmental Statement, Mitigation Schedule and Habitats Regulations Assessment (with appendices).

In addition, the application documents will be available for inspection using the publicly available computers and/or the laptops provided, free of charge, at the venues listed below from 2 January 2020 until 19 February 2020 (opening days and times vary as listed, and are subject to change).

Making a relevant representation

Now the Application has been accepted for examination persons may register with the Planning Inspectorate and provide a summary of their views of the application in writing by submitting a ‘Relevant Representation’ (giving notice of any interest in, or objection to, the application) in order to become an Interested Party.

Any Relevant Representations must be made on the Planning Inspectorate’s Registration and Relevant Representation Form, which is available through the project page of the Planning Inspectorate’s website at: https://infrastructure.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/projects/south-east/aquind-interconnector/. If you would like to request a paper copy of the Planning Inspectorate’s Registration and Relevant Representation Form, please telephone the Planning Inspectorate on 0303 444 5000. Completed forms should be returned to: The Planning Inspectorate, National Infrastructure Directive, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Bristol, BS1 6PN. The Planning Inspectorate’s reference number for the Application (EN020022) should be quoted in any correspondence. Please note that representations must be received by the Planning Inspectorate by 23:59 on Wednesday 19 February 2020.  All representations will be made public by the Planning Inspectorate.

Where copies of the application documents are requested, they can be provided free of charge on a USB Memory Stick.
